French President Macron's state visit to China

French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday kicked off a three-day state visit to Chinain Xi'an, which is the starting point of the ancient Silk Road.

According to the SinaWeibo account of Anhui's Railway Police, a woman surnamed Luo tried to stop a high-speed train from leaving by blocking its door with her body on Friday.

Luo claimed that she had to wait for her husband and refused to step aside as conductors tried to make her move.

the average monthly salary in 37 Chinese cities

The average monthly salary of white-collar workers in 37 major Chinese cities reached 7,789 yuan in the fourth quarter of 2017, with Beijing topping the list again with 10,310 yuan, according to a report released by Zhilian Recruitment, one of China's biggest recruitment websites.

中国最大的招聘网站之一智联招聘发布的一份报告显示，2017年第四季度，全国37个主要城市的白领平均月薪为7789元，北京以10310元稳居排行榜首位。

Shanghai and Shenzhen took second and third place. Guangzhou, which used to rank fourth, lagged behind Hangzhou, Ningbo and Dongguan.

China's mid-income class has reached 300 million, accounting for 30% of the middle-income group globally, reports Outlook Weekly, a magazine hosted by Xinhua News Agency.

Chinese per capita disposable income of residents last year stood at 23,821 yuan, up 44.3% compared to that of 2012.
